MHFR Course Description:
Mental Health First Response is an 8-hour certification training in mental health crisis skills prevention and intervention for individuals who want to gain valuable skills in mental health concerns, suicide prevention, and intervention. Mental Health First Response is a mental health crisis skills intervention & prevention workshop for individuals who want to gain valuable skills in mental health concerns and suicide intervention. This training program will assist any adults to intervene with someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis and/or other mental health conditions that may or may not be a crisis situation.
MHFR Objectives:
- Be exposed and learn the mental health first response core skills for any adult.
- Learn how to conduct suicide assessment, screen, and intervene in other mental health concerns.
- Be able to conduct a Safety Assessment of the person in crisis and create a safety plan.
- Learn and identify the warning signs of mental health and addiction concerns.
- Learn how to help someone in crisis and non-crisis situations.
- Know how to access professional help and referral to a higher level of care.
- Learn how to encourage and suggest self-help and other support systems.
- Be able to select, network, and build community resources.
- Create a healthy mental health workforce.
- Capacitate, build, and sustain your MHFR team at your organization.
- Mental Health First Response is a mental health crisis skills prevention and intervention training for individuals who want to gain valuable skills in mental health concerns, suicide prevention, and intervention.
- This training program will assist individuals in intervening with someone experiencing a mental health crisis and/or other mental health conditions that may or may not be a crisis situation.
- MHFR can assist with your organization's mental health capacity building and sustainability.
- Learn how to conduct a suicide assessment, risk assessment, and create a safety plan.
- In order to become a Mental Health First Responder®, you will need to attend a one-day course (8 hours) or online to learn the Mental Health First Response materials and be able to use and apply the E.S.T.I.M.A.T.E. © core skills.
- You will learn how to use and apply the E.S.T.I.M.A.T.E. core skills to judge and calculate the current mental health crisis situation to save someone’s life.
- Each core skill will be explained at the training so that the participant can clearly grasp the E.S.T.I.M.A.T.E. core skills.
- The participant will receive their certificate of training completion.
- After completing the required role-play video, participants who completed the MHFR training will be certified as a Mental Health First Responder.
- You can volunteer as a Mental Health First Responder in our mobilizations during a global crisis or natural calamities.
- You can volunteer as a Mental Health First Responder in our ongoing Emotional or Peer Support Program.
- A mental health first responder does not solicit crisis or non-crisis mental health situations; instead, they respond to a crisis if their assistance is needed. They use their skills to judge and calculate the situations if their assistance is needed or not.

This training is the online version of the MHFR face-to-face seminar/workshop. This course has been updated to reflect the current application of MHFR in providing emotional and peer support to anyone dealing with mental health concerns. The Emotional and Peer support program, including the mobilization of the mental health first responders as volunteer are included in this online training.
Upon completion of this course, you will be Certified as a Mental Health First Responder®. You will also be able to volunteer as an MHFR, providing emotional support or peer support in a coordinated mobilization in order to assist someone who is in need of mental health psychosocial support. As part of our community and corporate social responsibility, we are constantly looking for MHFR volunteers.
This online course is self-directed, on-demand 24/7 (30 days access), text-based learning, and other audio/video materials that include an assessment demonstrating that the participant completed the program.

This training is for Psychometricians and Behavioral Health Workers. We added new videos with different scenarios in order to enhanced your skills as you work with your clients.

MHFR Training for Trainers (T4T) online training course:
This course is designed for those who are wanting to be an instructor for MHFR, adhering, and teaching the MHFR core skills and its program. Whether your background is academic or corporate, we welcome you, as you embark on the T4T course.
This contains the updated MHFR Basic course, four separate live Webinar discussions with the program developer, and a required teaching video of you explaining the MHFR core skills, suicide assessment, and safety planning.
